Welcome to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party!

We all know this time of year well! The 7th March is world book day and parents everywhere will be making costumes, buying costumes we all know the drill!

The kids love it don’t they? I think my fave was when Joe went as boy in a dress! World book day is pretty hyped up at school and I always think it’s a shame that they go to school and that’s it, done.

That got me thinking… let’s have a mad hatters tea party? I headed over to Pinterest for inspiration and then straight to party pieces. I thought Ditsy prints, clashing patterns, Alice in wonderland props with a bit of metallic flare! I mean anything goes at a mad hatters tea party! I also found the best Alice in wonderland costume perfect for Bella as it’s a bit more grown up looking rather than the traditional style. I’m pleased to say she loved it and I don’t get her in a dress often these days!

Here is the link to a Bella’s dress.

Have you heard of party pieces ? I’m sure you have, it’s my go to for party decorations as they have literally everything you could imagine! The themes are endless for adults and children it’s a one stop shop for all your party needs.

I prepped the party in the day and when the kids got home from school we got dressed up and our guests arrived! They LOVED it! A tea party not just for a birthday, it was a special treat and it went down so well!

The cups and cake stand are from the Truly Alice range and they were so beautiful the children loved them! The cake stand is a total show stopper and made a stunning centrepiece.I love the rose gold table cloth! It was really lovely to have my nieces join us and I think I’m going to make it a bit of a tradition doing a different theme each year.

Frank thought he was the greatest showman! The Ditsy floral fans are something I will use over and over again!

I borrowed a few tea pots from a friend who has a love for vintage China, filled with juice they were perfect and added to the quirkiness.

The plates and bowls are from the Truly scrumptious range which you NEED to check out it is so beautiful I need to have an afternoon tea as an excuse to use it all again!

I was going to do cupcakes but decided to go down the easy route with jam tarts and Jammy dodgers, suffice to say there was none left!

I’m really happy with how it turned out we had such a lovely time! Thank you party pieces for providing us with these beautiful decorations!

This blog is in collaboration with party pieces and everything has been gifted but the idea is all mine, selected and styled myself I hope you liked it!
